Three orphan Monks are sent on a mission to recover a valuable artifact, when one of them is kidnapped by the mysterious bird-like creatures known only as the Storm Reavers, During the epic Kung-Fu battle that ensues, the artifact is smashed open, unleashing a mysterious curse upon their leader Mao, who is torn to shreds by the blast.
With strange new abilities and a determination to rescue their friend, they must set out to confront the Storm Reavers in their homeland. But first they must face the wrath of the Elders of their Monastery for their failure to complete their mission.
Mao discovers that the mysterious shadow figures he absorbed grant him near immortality. But he must still face the judgement of the Council of Elders for his failure to complete the mission, and plead for the council to rescue Nora. Meanwhile Dezmin prepares to settle into a new life in the small town, but a mysterious figure from his past has tracked him down.
